Services

The Teaching and Learning Centre offers services within the areas of teaching support, learning technology training and multimedia development to members of the UOIT teaching community. Whether you are new to your teaching role or have been teaching for a number of years, members of the Teaching and Learning Centre can meet with you to discuss various aspects of your teaching practice.

Flexibility is an important part of the Teaching and Learning Centre’s approach.  Meetings with Teaching and Learning Centre staff can take place in person, online or over the phone.  See the sections below to see the specific types of services offered through the Teaching and Learning Centre and email teachingandlearning@uoit.ca for more information or to request a meeting.

Teaching Support

There are a number of ways in which the Teaching and Learning Centre offers teaching support to faculty, part-time instructors, teaching assistants and other members of the teaching community.

Here are some of the areas in which teaching support can be provided by the Teaching and Learning Centre:

Learning Technology

The Teaching and Learning Centre can provide faculty, sessional instructors and teaching assistants with one-on-one or group training on a number of learning technologies by request.  Most importantly, a member of the Teaching and Learning Centre can meet with you to discuss which tools may or may not be appropriate in your specific teaching context.

Contact the Teaching and Learning Centre for training on the following:

If there are other learning technologies which do not appear on the list above that you plan to use, contact the Teaching and Learning Centre to inquire into whether training or support materials may be provided.

Technical support for supported software and hardware is provided through the UOIT IT Service Desk rather than the Teaching and Learning Centre.
